Sunday, September 11, 2011

**EVENT CANCELED**

***We regret to inform you that the festival many of us worked so hard to put together has been canceled. The city of Long Beach is not comfortable with the content of our event and is denying us a permit. Which we feel is unlawful.

We do plan on pushing forward and demand that the city gives us a permit for another date in the near future. Keep the good vibes in the air for us and we will let you know as soon we are ready to roll!

One Love, Many Blessings,

The Vision

A gathering of like minded individuals to have discussion and reason about hemp and its MANY benefits to healing our planet and our lives. A place for dancing joyfully on the earth to conscious reggae music as we celebrate our planet. A symposium for the topic and awareness of medical cannabis and its validity in health and well being. A platform to expose wholistic health in all its many different manifestations....

JahJahlah Production aims to provide an experience of collectiveness in our Come-Unity, where we come together to enjoy irie music, with conscious and heartfelt messages that unite us as bredren and sistren.

It will also be a place to educate ourselves about hemp on this day of healing awareness. Hemp is a plant that has the ability to completely heal and save our planet. Its important that we all come to an awareness of the outrageously numerous ways we can utilize hemp in our culture and society towards all of our wellbeing and healing.

We will have speakers presenting talks all day on the many uses of hemp and its ability to renew and regenerate the health of planet earth and our bodies....

There will be speakers who advocate for the medical use of cannabis, from doctors to mothers....

And speakers who will inform you on the current laws and regulations, as well as reform currently underway.....

There is an amazing lineup of local Long Beach bands, as well as a few out of towners, We are pleased to Announce as well,

10 Facts about Hemp

*Farming 6% of the continental U.S. acreage with biomass crops would provide all of America's energy needs.

*Hemp is the oldest cultivated fiber plant in the world.

*Hemp seed can be pressed into a nutritious oil, which contains the highest amount of fatty acids in the plant kingdom. Essential oils are responsible for our immune system responses, and clear the arteries of cholesterol and plaque

*One acre of hemp can produce as much usable fiber as 4 acres of trees or two acres of cotton.

*Trees cut down to make paper take 50 to 500 years to grow, while hemp can be cultivated in as little as 100 days and can yield 4 times more paper over a 20 year period.

*A strong lustrous fiber; hemp withstands heat, mildew, insects, and is not damaged by light. Oil paintings on hemp and/or flax canvas have stayed in fine condition for centuries.

*From 1842 through the 1880s, extremely strong marijuana (then known as cannabis extractums), hashish extracts, tinctures, and elixirs were routinely the second and third most-used medicines in America for humans (from birth through old age). These extracts were also used in veterinary medicine until the 1920s and longer.

*For at least 3,000 years prior to 1842 widely varying marijuana extracts (bud, leaves, roots, etc.) were the most commonly used real medicines in the world for the majority of mankind's illnesses.

*Almost any product that can be made from wood, cotton, or petroleum (including plastics) can be made from hemp. There are more than 25,000 known uses for hemp

*One acre of hemp produces as much cellulose fiber pulp as 4.1 acres of trees, making hemp a perfect material to replace trees for pressed board, particle board, and concrete construction molds

*In 1941 Henry Ford built a plastic car made of fiber from hemp and wheat straw. Hemp plastic is biodegradable, synthetic plastic is not.
